Hanoi’s exports recover in June
Hanoi’s exports have shown positive signs of recovery and are predicted to record good growth this year, according to the Hanoi Statistics Office.
Its export turnover in June increased by 2.5 percent compared to last month. In the first half of the year, Hanoi is forecast to reach an export turnover of more than US$3.4 billion, up 10.4 percent against the same period last year. The city’s import turnover is also expected to reach roughly US$10.5 billion, up 29.8 percent.
Almost all export items have shown a remarkable growth, notably computer components, textiles and garments, electronics and rice. Only coffee and gold saw decreases. In general, the prices of export items have increased by over 8 percent in the first six months.
Cong Xuan Mui, General Director of the Hanoi Statistics Office confirmed that the city’s export situation has shown positive signs as the prices of some export items have increased considerably. Many industrial exports have also risen sharply compared to the same period last year.
