VDC to invest in Tan Tao industrial park
The Viet Nam Data and Communications company has agreed to co-operate with ITA Telecommunication Corporation to invest in the Tan Tao Industrial Park.
Park customers will be able to use modern telecom and IT services. The Viet Nam Data and Communications (VDC) will support ITA Telecom in introducing services and products to clients through seminars, sales training and customer conferences. The two sides will focus on services such as data transmission, internet, hosting and VoIP.
ITA Telecom is the enterprise developing, investing, providing and monitoring telecom infrastructure system in industrial parks, office buildings, and metropolitan areas. VDC now is the biggest internet service provider in Viet Nam.
VDC holds a 70 per cent share of the broad band internet market. Viet Nam has six internet providers: VDC, military-run Viettel, FPT Telecom, NetNam, SPT, EVN Telecom.
VDC Director Vu Hoang Lien said despite good results last year in the internet sector, the company would continue to improve services and strive to reach 1 million broad band subscribers by the end of the year, compared to 800,000 last year of a total 2.5 million subscribers or 75 per cent of the ADSL market.
This year, the company would focusing on sectors like post and telecoms, healthcare, education and training, banking and e-government.
VDC won four prizes at the Viet Nam ICT Awards 2009 in Ha Noi held late last month. The company won best internet service provider, best ADSL service to households, best customer care and best new internet service awards.
In 2008, VDC/VNPT won a clutch of prizes at the Viet Nam ICT Awards, including best service provider, best customer care and fastest subscriber growth.
