HMC: Explanation for fluctuation in business result

Hochiminh City Metal Corporation explained the fluctuation in revenue and profit between Quarter 3/2009 and 4/2009 as follows:

* Profit before tax in Quarter 3/2009: VND 10,613,228,786

* Profit before tax in Quarter 4/2009: VND 9,866,117,087

The profit before tax in Quarter 4/2009 was 7 percent lower than in Quarter 3/2009.

Reason: In Quarter 4, price of steel and demand for steel were down slightly, which made revenue lose 7.4 percent. Therefore, profit in Quarter 4/2009 decreased by 7 percent from Quarter 3/2009.
