Danish firm opens solar panel factory

Denmark’s Sunmark opened a solar panel factory in the southern province of Binh Duong Province Friday.

The factory employs about 100 employees and has the capacity to produce 250,000 square meters of solar panels per year.

In a statement announcing the opening, Sunmark said there were especially great opportunities for thermal solar energy in Asia.

The wholy-owned foreign-owned factory began construction last year with an investment capital of US$4 million.

The domestic market would supply materials to the factory, which aims to export 90 percent of its products to European markets.

Binh Duong Province is located adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam’s economic and commercial hub.
