Luxury means of transport on show in Hanoi

Vietnam Auto & Petrol Show 2009 opened in Hanoi on October 28, showcasing a series of preeminent products and services of the petroleum industry as well as the world’s manufacturers of means of transport.

The show, which will remain open until Nov. 1, aims to provide visitors with the brands of auto and motorbike made by famous names at home and abroad. Noteworthy are wellknown trademarks of Nissan, BMW, Audi and Volskwagen.

Also on October 28, Audi Vietnam, an affiliate of German luxury car manufacturer Audi, launched its new Audi A4 Sedan car model. The Audi A4 is equipped with advanced engine technology and a media operating system and it is designed to consume fuel economically. The new kind of Audi is priced initially at nearly 1.5 billion VND (84,000 USD).

One day later, Europe’s largest carmaker Volkswagen Group opened its first authorised showroom in Hanoi. New models including New Beetle, Passat and Tiguan Touareg made by the Germany Wolfsburg-based company is displayed at the showroom.

The showroom provides services to maintain and repair Volkswgen’s products. World Auto Co. Ltd was granted authority to be the importer of the kind of car.

The group, which made about 3.12 million vehicle deliveries to customers in the first half of the year, representing 12 percent of the world’s passenger car market, is expected to open its second showroom in Ho Chi Minh city this year.
