Vietnam produces most ashlar blocks in ASEAN region
Vietnam has officially passed Indonesia to become ASEAN’s largest manufacturer of ashlar stone blocks, earning the country more than US$100 million annually.
The country, which now produces about 300m2 of ashlar every year, has also been recognized as having the world’s sixth largest ashlar industry.
Dinh Quang Huy, Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Pottery Association, said that in previous years, Vietnam and Indonesia had shared the No1 position in Southeast Asia, with a capacity of more than 200 million m2 per annum.
