Vietnam attends Tonkin Gulf economic cooperation forum

The annual Gulf of Tonkin economic forum opened in Nanning City, Guangxi province, China, on August 6 with the participation of nearly 400 delegates from ASEAN countries and international organisations.

This year’s forum is entitled ‘Building a new China-ASEAN development axis and expanding cooperation to turn crisis into opportunities’.

Participants will focus their discussions on an enlarged economic cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin, promoting cooperation in infrastructure construction and strengthening cooperation with other subregions of ASEAN.

The Vietnamese delegation to the forum is headed by Deputy Minister of Transport Le Manh Hung.

This is the fourth consecutive year China has held this meeting.
