TRA: Explanation for Business Result in Quarter II/2009

Traphaco Joint Stock Company (TRA: TRAPHACO) explained the over-five-percent fluctuation in business result between Quarter II/2009 and Quarter I/2009:

Profit after tax in Quarter II/2009 increased by VND2.21 billion (or 18.77%) compared with Quarter I/2009 primarily because cost of good sold in Quarter II was 10% lower than Quarter I. The decrease in cost of good sold was thanks to the followings:

- The company’s sales policy in Quarter II/2009 was to speed up selling the products which have big difference between selling and cost prices. The selling expense in Quarter II/2009 increased by VND8.55 billion (or 50.6%) compared to Quarter I/2009. 

- Prices of materials in 2008 rose sharply due to economic crisis. Therefore, prices of materials and inventories transferred to Quarter I/2009 were much higher than Quarter II/2009.
