Slow investment tolls end for 30 Kon Tum projects
Thirty-one out of 62 projects in the Bo Y Border Gate Economic Zone in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have been canceled due to late investment.
According to the initial registration, the canceled projects were worth a combined total of VND89,709 billion (US$5.24 billion) and 20 billion in US dollars.
The economic zone management board said Sunday the other 31 projects, which are still in effect, still required more than VND77,000 billion ($4.5 billion) worth of pledged investment.
Six projects have been completed with the initial capital of more than VND86 billion ($5 million); seven projects require around VND1,600 billion ($93.5 million) and 18 other projects are being planned.
