Power Plant makes debut

The PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) inaugurated the Nhon Trach 1 Power Plant with a capacity of 462.8 MW in the southern province of Dong Nai on August 23.

The new factory will be chiefly fed by natural gas from Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins.

PV Power said the plant will generate between 2.2 and 2.5 billion kWh/year.

The corporation is speeding up the construction tempo of the Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant with a capacity of 750 MW, also in Nhon Trach district of Dong Nai province.

PV Power has invested in a number of major power projects such as the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW in the northern province of Thai Binh and the Luang Phrabang Hydro-Power Plant in Laos, with a capacity of 1,500 MW.
