Vietnam to export 6 million tonnes of rice
Since the middle of July, Vietnam has exported nearly 3.87 million tonnes of rice, earning more than US$1.585 billion.
According to the US Department of Agriculture, the world’s total volume of rice is one percent higher than last year, while the demand for rice has increased by two percent to reach 26.3 million tonnes. The demand for rice reserves has also grown by 5.56 percent.
Nguyen Dinh Bich, an analyst from the Institute for Commercial Research, said that it will be Vietnam’s great achievement to export 6 million tones of rice this year. Therefore, we should continue to boost our rice exports, he said.
