Import tax on kerosene reduced by 5 percent

The Ministry of Finance has decided to adjust the preferential tariff on some petroleum products.

Accordingly, the import tax on kerosene will fall from 35 percent to 30 percent. Import taxes on other products such as petroleum, diesel and fuel oil will remain the same. Currently, the petroleum tax is 20 percent and the diesel tax is 20 percent.

The new preferential tariff will take effect on July 6, 2009.
