Hanoi’s CPI increases by 0.77 percent in July
Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.77 percent in July compared to June and by 10.94 percent over the same period last year.
According to the Hanoi Statistics Department, most commodities saw price rises, with housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials going up by 2.58 percent, and transport, postal and telecommunications services, 2.76 percent.
Other commodities including drinks and tobacco, textile products, clothes, household equipment and utensils, medicine and medical services, educational and cultural services, experienced slight increases, from 0.33 percent to 0.95 percent.
Economic experts said that domestic consumption is flourishing thanks to the Government’s effective investment and consumption stimulation packages.
This month, the price of gold dropped by 0.15 percent and the price of the US dollar rose by 1.19 percent.
