Gold prices again hit VND21 million per tael

The domestic prices of gold on June 18 increased by VND60,000 per tael compared to June 17, when it was transacted at VND21.01 million/tael.

The price of SJC gold in Hanoi stood at VND20.91-21.01 million per tael. While the price of SBJ gold was transacted at the Saigon Commercial Bank (Sacombank) at VND20.93-21.01 million/tael.

However, this is seen as only the beginning of a growing trend. Many investors believe the world’s gold prices will soon increase even more sharply as a result of run-away inflation.

World gold prices on June 18 stood at US$940.1/oz, up US$6/oz against June 17.

Positive signs of development on the real estate market have driven up gold prices to VND21 million per tael. It seems that investors are feeling more confident in the long-term prospects of the local economy.
