Vietnam Airlines adopts new service technology
As of May 16, Vietnam Airlines will begin implementing a new passenger service system that boasts a range of technological advances, the national flag carrier said Wednesday.
The system was designed and developed by US company Sabre Airlines Solutions, the world’s largest provider of software products, passenger solutions and consulting services which helps airlines reduce costs, simplify operations, maximize revenue and improve customer service.
The advanced equipment is already being used by a number of major airlines globally including American Airlines, Gulf Air and Aeroflot.
The airline’s Deputy General Director for Sales and Marketing Trinh Hong Quang, said he hoped that with its user-friendly features and technological advances, the new system would help Vietnam Airlines to improve the quality of its passenger services as the nation integrates deeper into the global economy.
On April 15, Vietnam Airlines signed an agreement to become a member of SkyTeam, the world’s second largest alliance of airlines, by 2010.
The airline plans to increase its fleet of aircraft to 104 by 2015 after purchasing a number of Boeing B787’s and Airbus 350’s.
