New Vinpearl name stresses development
Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Co, a listed firm on the HCM City Stock Exchange, has changed its trade name from Vinpearl to Vinpearl Land, with the approval of the company’s shareholders and the Department of Planning and Investment of central Khanh Hoa Province.
The new name helped focus clients on the business strategy of the firm as a developer of tourism projects, said chairman Nguyen Trong Hien.
The company’s 2009 business plan includes completion of projects which commenced construction last year, including a golf course and villas development and the first six-star hotel on Hon Tre Island.
The company would continue investing in its core business of infrastructure and property projects in Khanh Hoa and neighbouring provinces, as it raised awareness of its trademark nationwide, said Hien.
Hien also said the company was restructuring its management board and creating a consultancy council to adjust marketing approaches during different economic situations.
The company earned VND627.8 billion (US$15 million) in turnover and VND35.7 billion ($2 million) in net profit in 2008.
