Many contracts signed at Mekong Expo 2009

The Mekong Expo 2009, held in the southern city of Can Tho from April 25 to May 1, has concluded with many contracts signed.

The fair had 378 stands representing 136 enterprises and the Indonesia Consulate General, as well as trade promotion centres of the Mekong Delta provinces and the provinces of Dong Nai and Lam Dong.

The volume of products sold at the fair surpassed the enterprises’ expectations. Many enterprises signed contracts worth as much as US$30,000 to export goods to the US and open agencies for exporting to markets such as Canada and Switzerland.

Other businesses like Vietnam Airlines, the 720 Construction Material Company, and the Khanh Hoa Salagane Nest Company took advantage of the event to inquire into customer demand and to promote trade.

During the fair, a seminar on boosting trade in the Middle East and African markets helped both domestic and foreign enterprises to introduce their products and seek cooperation and investment in the Mekong Delta.

More than 100,000 guests and nearly 50 delegations visited the expo.
