HCMC to host international digital marketing conference
Vietnamese and global entrepreneurs will compare notes on effectively using digital marketing during the economic downturn at the Saigon Digital Marketing 2009 to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 23.
The event is expected to attract nearly 1,000 delegates, including marketing and public relations experts and 14 key speakers from major global corporations who will talk about digital marketing solutions and tools.
The HCMC-based 90 Media Company is the event organizer.
Phan Dang Dung, communication manager of 90 Media, said digital marketing is a major issue among Vietnamese companies that are struggling with limited marketing budgets amid the economic crisis.
Vietnam has been ranked among the top Asian countries in Internet penetration with over 24 percent of its population having access.
The government has forecast the Internet use rate to reach 35 percent by 2010.
Mobile phone subscription has been rocketing and is set to reach over 40 percent of the population by the end of 2009, it has also said.
All these factors have gradually built up a firm base for digital marketing in Vietnam, 90 Media Chairman Kelvin To said.
