Gold price remains stable, gas falls

With the two recent public holidays, the gold price in Vietnam has not changed over three days. A tael (1.3 ounces) at SJC is bought for VND19.66 million (US$1,156) and sold at 19.72 million.

Meanwhile the world gold price May 1 fell by $5 to stand at $881.2 per ounce.

Gold is expected to drop to $850 per ounce in the coming days.

Domestic gold is also forecasted to fall but not as much as world prices.

Gas suppliers in Ho Chi Minh City said that from May 1, gas will fall on average by VND10,000 a cylinder.

SP Gas, Vina Gas and Gia Dinh Gas 12 kilogram gas cylinders costs VND183,000.

Domestic gas prices continue to fall in line with world gas prices, falling $10 to stand at $390 a ton.

Domestic gas has fallen by VND22,000 per 12 kilogram cylinder since beginning of March.
