Vietnam’s basa catfish trade fair organised in Italy

The Slow Fish 2009 was co-organised by Slow Food Association and Liguria area at Genova Exhibition Centre (Italy) from April 17 to 20, according to the European Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The fair was sponsored by the Italian Ministry for Agricultural Policy and attended by several non-governmental organisations like Green Peace, WWF…

The fair is held every two years and this is the fourth time it took place. The fair aimed to provide consumers with information on producing, processing and consuming clean and environment-friendly seafood.

Within the framework of the fair, there were many activities and one important conference referring directly to Vietnam’s basa imports to Italy market.

Mr Tran Thanh Hai, Vietnam’s trade counselor in Italy, spoke at the conference on information and document to affirm the quality of Vietnam’s basa catfish. He also exchanged ideas with the experts and received good feedback from speakers and participants at the fair.
