Vietnamese shoes stand firm in Spain
The Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE) said that Vietnam is securing its footwear exports to the country with a 9.6 percent share of the market accounting for 14.6 percent of its total revenues.
Last year, Vietnam has shipped 33.156 million pairs of shoes to Spain valued at EUR271.85 million, a year on year increase of 10.5 percent in quantity and 23.4 percent in value.
Despite a fall of more than 5.1 percent in export volume, China dominates this market by making up 70.6% of the total volume and 33% of total revenues.
According to FICE, Spain imported 345 million pairs worth EUR1.858 billion. Besides Vietnam and China, Italy, Portugal, Indonesia, India, France and Brazil also export footwear to Spain.
