Vietnam Expo 2009 opens in Hanoi

The 19th Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2009) opened in Hanoi on April 8, attracting the participation of more than 300 domestic and foreign businesses showcasing their products in over 520 stalls.

The event, themed “Vietnam: Integration and Development”, was jointly organised by the Department of Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad).

On display were aquatic products, food, furniture, interior decorations, handicrafts, garments and textiles, footwear, electronic appliances and machinery.

During the Expo, there were also workshops and trade promotion forums between Vietnamese businesses and foreign partners.

According to Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nguyen Thanh Bien, Vietnam Expo 2009 created a good opportunity for domestic businesses to seek trade partners and expand theirs markets.

The event will last until April 11.
