Sumitomo Corporation to develop high-quality human resources in Vietnam
Masanori Banno, President of the Sumitomo Shoji Research Institute of the Sumitomo Corporation in Japan gave a lecture at Vietnam’s National Economics University in Hanoi on March 11.
He spoke of Japan’s economic growth process and emphasised the importance of developing human resources for students, teachers and economists.
The lecture was part of a programme on global management cooperation supported by the Sumitomo Corporation to be deployed in Vietnam between 2008 and 2012. The programme aims to develop high-quality human resources during the country’s international economic integration.
The programme underlines the Sumitomo Corps’ commitment to Vietnam after a meeting with President Nguyen Minh Triet in Japan in November, 2007.
As part of the programme, 3 lectures will be given at the National Economics University every year to help Vietnamese economists understand more about Japan’s economy, a strategic partner for Vietnam.
In addition, the Sumitomo Corporation has created the Sumitomo scholarship fund for Asian students, held Japanese language courses in Da Nang city, delivered lectures in China and established libraries in Madagasscar.
