KDC: Business result in Q4/2008

Kinh Do Corporation (KINHDO) has explained business result in Q4/2008 as follows:

Due to global financial crisis, sales in Q4/08 did not reach the plan. Products of the company usually depend on seasonal factors. The time of Q3/2008 was the mid-autumn occasion thus; profit in Q3 was higher than that in Q4.

Short-term investment:

- Short-term financial investment was used to loan to member companies: VND556.8 billion

- Short-term securities investment: VND62.6 billion

- Deducting for the provision: VND39.5 billion

Long-term investment:

- Long-term financial investment was used to strategically invest to companies such as Nutifood, Vinabico, Sabeco, Tribeco Binh Duong, Thien Long, Vietcapital, Saigon Kim Cuong Joint Stock company, Eximbank, SOCIÉTÉ DE BOURBON TAY NINH (SBT). There was no deduction for the provision of the long-term investment. However, the provision worth VND19 billion belonged to investment to Vinabico.
