Bank rolls out first mobile ATM system

Dong A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (DongA Bank) launched its first mobile ATM system on January 15, in the form of two trucks containing ATMs.

The two-tonnes trucks each possess four ATMs and are connected to a high-speed wireless network system with direct links to the bank’s server system to ensure that transaction operations are as stable and seamless as those performed at fixed ATMs.

Costing 90,000 USD each, the trucks aim to meet the financial demand of locals, particularly those with jobs and will ease the burden placed on fixed ATMs during peak times, such as during holidays, Tet and at fairs, when there is a surge in demand.

DongA Bank currently manages 1,200 ATMs nationwide, serving 2.5 million card holders. The bank plans to offer an additional 20 mobile ATMs in the near future.
