Vietnam hosts ASEAN fair in Mexico

The Embassy of Vietnam in Mexico has coordinated with its counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand to organise the Bazar International Fair 2008 in the capital city of Mexico.

The event opened on December 13 with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges, as well as highlighting the land and people of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries.

The annual event offers a wide range of activities, including a fashion show, art and martial art performances, and display of traditional dishes, handicraft, textiles and garments.

Vietnam’s booth showcasing handicraft products, traditional costumes and dishes has attracted a large number of visitors. In addition, Vietnamese folk art performances have been given to celebrate the inauguration of the Ho Chi Minh statue at Vietnam Park in Mexico City.

On the occasion, the organising board has raised over 30,000 peso to support Mexican flood victims.
