NBC delegation visits Vietnam
A high ranking delegation of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) led by Governor Chea Chanto is paying a visit to Vietnam from December 16 to 22, 2008 at the invitation of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Mr. Nguyen Van Giau.
Over the past years, the relations of cooperation between SBV and NBC has been increasingly consolidated and gained many achievements. Specifically, the two central banks has signed the Cooperation and Settlement Agreement, conducted several working visits of the leaders of the two central banks, and exchanged banking information and experiences.
Following is the schedule of the NBC delegation during its stay in Vietnam :
- On December 17: NBC Governor Chea Chanto will have a meeting with SBV Governor Nguyen Van Giau in order to exchange the economic situation of the two countries and the activities of the two central banks in the fields of monetary policy, banking supervision and operations of credit institutions.
On the same day, NBC and SBV will sign a Memorandum on Exchange of Banking Supervision Information. This document will create a legal framework for the two central banks to strictly supervise banking activities in the two countries to promote more effective and prudent operations of commercial banks, especially in the context of increasing competition and integration.
- On December 18: the NBC delegation will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to brief him of the delegation’s agenda in Vietnam.
The same day, the delegation will pay visits to the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (VBARD) and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
- On December 19-20, the Cambodian guests will tour the resort city of Da Lat and pay a working visit to the SBV Branch of Lam Dong Province.
- On December 21: In Ho Chi Minh City, the NBC delegation will call on the Sai Gon - Thuong Tin Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (Sacombank) on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.
