Localities prepare goods for New Year Festival
Localities are busy preparing goods to meet consumers’ demand as the upcoming Traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) is drawing near.
In the northern province of Thanh Hoa, the total value of commodities sold to the market is expected to reach around VND1,688 billion including some essential goods such as ordinary rice (41,000 tonnes) and sticky rice (4,800 tonnes), beef and pork (7,200 tonnes), poultry (2,900 tonnes) and confection (2,000 tonnes).
In addition, the province has also strengthened control over smuggling, fake and poor quality goods to avoid trade fraud. It has strictly inspected the slaughter and transportation of poultry and cattle under the current regulations.
In central Nghe An province, deputy director of the provincial Department of Commerce, Nguyen Tai Dung said that a shortage of goods and price fluctuations will not happen in the province before and after Tet holiday. The province will co-operate with relevant agencies to take drastic measures to prevent speculation, price hikes, fake goods and trade fraud.
The department has also assigned enterprises to prepare and send essential goods for Tet, especially food to remote and mountainous areas in the province.
The province also has encouraged enterprises, individuals and organizations to tap commodity resources in different regions to meet consumer demands during the Tet holiday.
