Sumitomo Mitsui licensed to establish Hanoi branch

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) has been licensed to establish its Hanoi branch. Tran Minh Tuan, deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam has presented the license to SMBC Asia Pacific General Director Koichi Danno, the SBV has announced on its website.

According to the license, SMBC, headquartered at 1-1-2, Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0006, Japan is allowed to open a branch in Hanoi which has an operational duration of 20 years with a charter capital of US$15 million.

SMBC Hanoi Branch, located at 11th floor, Pacific Place, 83B Ly Thuong Kiet street, is allowed to conduct activities as a commercial bank including capital mobilisation, credit activities, payment services, treasury operations and other activities in compliance with Vietnamese regulations.
