SBV Branches report credit relations with customers

The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Document No.10290/NHNN-CSTT on November 21, 2008 requiring municipal and provincial SBV branches to file reports on credit information with customers of commercial banks. This action aims at assessing the capacity of loan access of enterprises and households in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the branches are required to monitor and consolidate report on execution of financing needs of customers by credit institutions in their location, in compliance with regulations in Item 3 of Article 15 of Decision No.1627/2001/QD-NHNN dated December 31, 2001 on regulation on providing loans to customers applicable to commercial banks.

The report should comprise such indicators as total credit outstanding by the date of reporting, credit structures, and total numbers of loan applications in reporting month of which the total number of applications approved to disburse and the total number of applications denied. Additionally, the rejected applications should be classified in the categories of reasons due to customers, commercial banks, or administrative procedures resulting in the failure to provide loans.
