Credit institutions required to report real estate loans
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Document No.10151/NHNN-CSTT dated November 17 to require credit institutions to submit reports to SBV on their real estate loans by November 21.
Specifically, credit institutions should report all loans for ongoing real estate projects as of October 31 and assessment of loans incurred for real estate in October as stipulated in Document No. 5659/NHNN-CSTT of the SBV Governor dated June 25 on credit indicators.
Reports on loans for the ongoing projects should comprise such indicators as capital demand, names of borrowers, locations of projects, total investment capital, the total lending commitments by the commercial banks, the disbursed amount, the non-disbursement capital and reasons for non-disbursement.
The real estate projects classified in capital demand include industrial and export processing zones, urban areas, office buildings, commercial centers and other real estate businesses.
In addition, credit institutions should assess the risks related to ongoing real estate loans and solutions to be taken in the coming time; and estimated ratios of non-performing loans by December 31 and for the first half of 2009.
