Re-export contaminated milk products to original makers

Seized Chinese-made milk and milk materials found containing melamine are possibly returned to the original makers, said the Deputy Minister of Health Ministry.

The deputy said that the Ministry is going to work with relevant ministries - Foreign relations; and Commerce and Industry – to guide local businesses in procedures to return the tainted products to Chinese milk producers.

The initiative is being considered to prevent local businesses from suffering huge losses due to deliberate imports.

China’s Deputy Minister of Health Ministry has agreed to the recall of melamine tainted products from ASEAN countries in a Health Minister’s conference, which occurred from October 6 - 11 in the Philippines.

Vietnam reportedly have melamine tainted products under control, according to a report sent to the press on Monday by the Ministry of Health.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have expressed advocating an absolute ban on human foods contaminated with melamine and melamine-related compounds proposed by Vietnam Ministry of Health.
