Lilama 3 – strategic partner of MacGregor group
The Lilama Joint Stock Company 3 and MacGregor Group has reached an agreement on strategic cooperation in production of hatch covers for ships in Vietnam.
The agreement will be effective for 15 years and may be extended on the basis of negotiation.
Under the agreement, Lilama 3, an affiliate of the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama), will assemble and manufacture products, while Finland-based MacGregor undertake the sales of all products, estimated at 20,000 tonnes a year to the maximum.
The two sides also signed minutes on cooperation in building an engineering manufacture and shipbuilding factory at a total cost of 255 billion VND in the Bach Hac industrial zone in the northern midland province of Phu Tho . The factory is expected to be completed in July 2009.
Lilama 3 General Director Phan Kim Lan stressed that the project marks a new development step of Lilama in implementing its strategy on heavy industry development in the northwestern region.
Praising Lilama 3’s strength in machinery installation, design and shipbuilding, MacGregor CEO Esko Karvonen said he believed that Lilama 3 will become MacGregor’s important long-term strategic partner.
