Pixel Media expands operations in Vietnam
Pixel Media, Asia’s leading online advertising sales network, has announced to set up a joint venture in Vietnam, aiming at expanding its business in the country’s growing online advertising market.
The Hong Kong-based group’s partner in Vietnam is the mobile and digital media solutions group 5 th Media joint stock company.
With two offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Pixel Media Vietnam comprises a strong team of media, internet and mobile veterans from Asia and the Unites States , and will seek to build strong website partnerships with local web publishers.
According to Kevin Huang, CEO of Pixel Media, the Internet is the fastest growing medium in Vietnam, with over 20 percent of the population in major cities now online.
“This coupled with Vietnam’s GDP growth rate of 7.3 percent and its overall population of 84 million gives me confidence that the country can offer us unparalleled growth opportunities and to further our goal of becoming the most extensive online ad sales network in Asia,” Kevin Huang said in the group’s press release issued on September 29.
Meanwhile, Pixel Media Vietnam General Manager Robin Hii said Vietnam’s advertising and Internet industry is seeing tremendous growth and is expected to be worth up to 31 million USD in 2010, from 10 million USD in 2007.
“We hope to take an active role in this and to combine our local knowledge of the market with Pixel Media’s experience in the Asia region,” he said.
