TNT expands network in Vietnam
The Netherlands-based TNT, a leading integrated express services provider, has launched a domestic and international express sorting centre in Hanoi.
With a staff of 90 workers, the centre, located on a 1,200 sq.m area to the southwest of the city, is designed to provide 24-hour heavy shipment delivery services.
The centre is part of TNT’s development strategy to meet the increasing demands of heavy shipment express services in the trade network linking Vietnam, other Southeast Asian countries, China and Europe.
TNT Southeast Asia regional managing director Onno Boots said the centre is part of TNT’s five-year US$100 million investment package to maximise its performance in the region.
The centre will serve as an entrepot that links TNT’s road and airway networks, he said.
According to TNT Vietnam General Director Mark Van Den Assem, the Hanoi-based sorting centre has increased TNT’s domestic and international air express capacity by four times.
