More cement plant in the planning

A cement plant with a design capacity of 5,000 tonnes of clinker and 2 million tonnes of cement will be built in the southern province of Binh Phuoc to tap the local rich stone and lay ores.

Under a deal reached by the provincial administration and the An Phu Cement Company on August 21, the construction will take 33 months and be finished by early 2011.

The potential factory is expected to provide jobs for over 400 staff workers and sideline occupations for thousands of others.

The An Phu project is the second of its kind in Binh Phuoc province, home to an estimated 173 million tonnes of stones and 27 million tonnes of clay in ore deposits, which are key materials for clinker and cement production.
