Fishy businesses fined in Mekong Delta
Hau Giang Province People’s Committee has fined three fish processing enterprises for polluting the environment with waste from their factories.
Cafatex Joint-stock Company and Viet Hai Seafood Company Ltd. were each fined VND32 million (US$1,920) while Thanh Khoi Co. Ltd. will have to pay VND27 million ($1,620) , the provincial People’s Committee said Tuesday.
The Mekong Delta province authorities ruled that the companies must install standard waste-treating systems by December 15.
