Drugs expo attracts international interest
The annual international exhibition of medicine and pharmaceuticals which will begin on Thursday has attracted participants from 20 countries and territories to exhibit their products and services at 250 stalls.
Around 30 companies are expected to arrive from Taiwan, including those that already have a major investment in Viet Nam, including Sunmed Medical Group which specialises in hospital construction and consultancy and Wise Vision Viet Nam, which offers equipment for physical therapy.
Ten leading Czech companies will also participate for the first time, including LINET, one of the world’s five top producers of hospital beds and SICAR, Europe’s biggest ambulance manufacturer.
Five American firms offering drugs as well as pharmaceutical materials will be present at the five-day event together with those from China, Malaysia, India, Korean, Pakistan and Thailand.
Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Vinh Phuc Drug Company and Sao An Lac (ambulance) will be among the Vietnamese exhibitors.
Apart from product marketing events, organisers of the expo, VINEXAD and VIMEDIMEX Joint-Stock Company in co-ordination with the Ministry of Health will hold seminars on the Vietnamese market and regulations on trading of pharmacueticals and medical equipment.
Fact-finding tours to drug factories will also be on the agenda, according to Pham Quynh Giang, deputy general director for VINEXAD.
The expo will take place at the HCM City International Exhibition and Convention Centre, 446 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District.
