Canon inaugurates largest laser printer factory in Bac Ninh
Canon Vietnam Company's laser printer factory in northern Bac Ninh province, the second phase, was officially inaugurated on August 22 at the Que Vo Industrial Park after eight months of construction.
This is the factory with the highest output owned by Canon in the world. It production hit 14.4 million products a year.
The factory is built on 20 hectares at the Que Vo Industrial Park. The total area for its workshops in the first phase is 61,000 square metres and another 56,000 square metres for the second phase.
Currently, the factory has 6,500 workers and the figure is said to be 10,000 by 2011.
Canon currently supplies half of the world demands for printers. The factory in Bac Ninh is said to meet 35% of the world demands for laser printers.
By now, Canon has had three factories producing printers in Vietnam.
