Anti-dumping taxes on tra fish removed
The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has decided to remove its anti-dumping taxes imposed on the East Sea Seafoods Joint Venture Co.Ltd, QVD Food Co. and Anvifish Co.Ltd.
The decision came after its admission of some errors in imposing import taxes on three Vietnamese exporters of tra catfish, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
DOC previously asked Anvifish to pay a 31.68 percent tax. Later, however, it decided to give the company tax-exemption when Anvifish successfully proved that the DOC’s calculation was wrong.
Similarly, DOC imposed a 14.59 percent tax on the QVD Food Co. but later removed the tax on the company because they had no evidence.
