Stock market continues to rally, VN-Index exceeds 450 points
The domestic stock market keep maintained its upward climb on the last trading session of the week with sharp gains reported on both bourses.
The VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange gained another 10.04 points (2.24%) to close a busy trading week at 456.64. With four consecutive gaining sessions this week and one decline at the week's opening session, the VN-Index had 16.96 points more compared to last week.
After five trading sessions this week, a total of nearly 83 million shares and fund certificates were traded via order matching, or an average of over 16.5 million units a session, showing that the market's liquidity has been much improved.
Ending the session today, nearly 13 million units were matched for VND 390 billion.
Of the total 156 listed stocks today, 136 were gainers, ten others stayed unchanged, only nine declined and one had no trade.
The northern bourse also witnessed a busy session today with nearly 5 million shares matched for VND 124 billion. The HASTC-Index closed for the four consecutive session this week, up 3.84 points or 2.97% to 133 points. Only 18 stocks dropped while 119 advanced, including 117 hitting ceiling prices. One other stock reported no trade at all and four stayed still.
