Sanyo to build US$95 million plant in Bac Giang
Bac Giang authorities on July 10 granted an investment license to Sanyo-HQ Vietnam Electronics Component Company Limited, a subsidiary of Japan's Sanyo Electric Company.
Accordingly, the company will build a hi-tech plant in Quang Chau Industrial Park in northern Bac Giang province.
Total investment for the project is put at US$95 million. The project covers 144,000 square metres.
The plant specialises in producing electronic optical-transmission components. Construction of the plant will start in September 2008 and the first products are scheduled to be turned out in April 2009.
The plant is expected to generate jobs for some 12,000 workers and exported US$300 million worth of products after three years of operation.
