Israeli businessmen seek more trade with Vietnam
One of Israel’s top businessmen said on July 17 that his country should develop more trade with Vietnam.
The two countries should promote co-operation in hi-tech industries, shipbuilding, sea transport, construction, property, securities, insurance and tourism, said Rami Ungar, an Israeli billionaire.
Mr Ungar also shared his views on the Vietnamese and global economies as well as his own experience in doing business at the meeting co-hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam.
He said he believed the Vietnamese economy will overcome its current difficulties in the next two or three years.
Ray Shipping Co, one of the three companies of Rami Ungar, inked a US$1-billion shipbuilding contract with the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group in 2006. Mr Ungar said his company plans to set up six or seven shipbuilding factories in Vietnam and apply Israel’s advanced technology to assist the Vietnamese industry.
Another Israeli billionaire, Issac Tshuva, told Vietnamese Construction Minister Nguyen Hong Quan that he wants to build a seven-star hotel in Hanoi.
Mr Tschuva, who is president of Israel’s Elad group, said that the project would be among the largest hotels in the world, with a convention area, and a complex of high-level houses and offices equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
