Finding ways to develop coffee, cacao, pepper and cashew nuts sectors

A seminar was held in Hanoi on July 9 to evaluate the World Trade Organisation (WTO)’s impacts on the development of the coffee, cacao, pepper and cashew nuts sector after nearly two years since Vietnam joined this organisation.

The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh National Institute of Public Administration, the Trade & Business Information Centre and the Youth Company. It aims to find solutions to help the coffee, cacao, pepper and cashew nuts sectors develop sustainably and effectively in the post WTO period.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh said as Vietnam has been integrated more deeply into the international economy it is very important to evaluate WTO impacts on these sectors in order to help them work out comprehensive long-term development strategies.
