Cambodia-Japan Investment Protection Agreement to take effect
The Agreement for the Liberalization, Promotion and Protection of Investment between Cambodia and Japan will come into force on July 31.
Diplomatic notes for the entry into force of the agreement were exchanged between the two countries in Phnom Penh on July 1, Cambodia’s news agency (AKP) reported citing the press release issued by the Embassy of Japan the same day.
The agreement with high-level contents stipulates comprehensive and detailed matters concerning the liberalisation, promotion and protection of investment, the press release said.
It will improve Cambodia’s investment environment and further strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries.
The agreement on investment protection and promotion was signed in June 2007 by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
