A Vuong hydro-electric power plant's reservoir begins water storage
A Vuong Hydro-electric Power Joint Stock Company on July 14 organised a ceremony in Ma Coohi commune, Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province to mark the day when its reservoir started to store water and was put into operation.
A Vuong Hydro-electric Power Plant is designed to have two turbines with a total capacity of 210MW, generating an average 815 million KW/h annually. Construction of the plant was kicked off on August 31, 2003.
After nearly five years of construction, overcoming great difficulties, especially those caused by the two historic floods in 2006 and 2007, thousands of workers on the construction site have done a great job and are determined to put the plant into operation as scheduled.
The reservoir starting to store water will help reduce the danger of floods in the rainy season.
A Vuong Hydro-electric Power Joint Stock Company the same day launched a drive to speed up construction work so as the first turbine will be put into operation in November this year and the whole project be totally completed in the first quarter of 2009.
