Vietnam's cocoa among world's leading ones in quality
Vietnam's cocoa has been affirmed to be among the world's leading ones in quality at the recent 11th South-East Asian Cocoa Club Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting was aimed at discussing measures to improved cocoa quality, planting techniques and market development.
Vietnam's cocoa has attracted great interest in the global market though the country has embarked in planting cocoa only just a short period ago. Yet, thanks to its fine quality, its cocoa ranks second after Ghana only.
Currently, Vietnam has developed a total of 10,000 hectares of cocoa, mostly in the southern province of Ben Tre and Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.
The country targets to have 20,000 hectares of cocoa by 2010.
