Local stock exchange gets new stock rating systems
Bien Viet Securities (CBV), a local brokerage focusing on developing indexes for the local stock exchange, has introduced two rating systems for listed firms.
The systems include CBV Equity Ratings and CBV Credit Ratings.
CBV’s Equity Ratings has an emphasis on evaluating the long-term value of a listed enterprise, rather than the fluctuation of shares in the short term. The system takes into account the free cash flow that a firm can create in the future.
There are five ranking levels, with the highest level for firms whose share prices are lower then their real value.
CBV Credit Ratings aims to calculate the probability of a listed firm being able to pay back a loan in a certain period of time.
CBV deputy director Vu Duc Nghia said the evaluation systems could help investors gain an overview of the how listed firms performed, based on factual data and reliable sources.
This could help clients adjust their investment in an effective way, said Nghia.
