VN-Index falls below 520 points as foreign investors increase buying
The domestic stock market continued its downward trend with the VN-Index losing 0.56% or 2.93 points to close at 518.35 and the HASTC-Index witnessing a 1.89% fall or 3.16 points to close at 163.89.
In the southern bourse, only just over 5 million units were traded through three order matching phases for VND 253 billion.
Only 34 stocks reported gains while 114 others suffered losses. Four stocks stayed still and two had no trade.
Top active stocks in terms of volumes included DPM with 586,880 units matched, PPC (478,110 units). VHG (375,100 units), VTO (345,250 units) and HPG (314,540 units)
Large-cap stocks of SSI, FPT, STB, DPM and PVD were all losers on today’s session.
Foreign investors increased buying today. In total, they bought 3.39 million shares and fund certificates, including BT6, DPM, PPC, VTO, HPG and others, worth VND 189 billion while sold nearly 460,000 units worth VND 37 billion.
Trading volume in the northern bourse remained low, at over 2 million shares worth VND 73 billion. A majority of stocks hit floor prices at the third consecutive increase of the bourse today. Only ten stocks managed gains while 98 were losers. Up to 23 stocks had no trade and four maintained their reference prices.
