VN-Index bounces back
The Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Hanoi counterpart recovered slightly at the end of the April 17 trading session, after a day of slight losses.
The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) jumped 6.2 points or 1.16 percent to finish at 537.58 points. A total of 14 million shares, worth 563 billion VND, were traded.
The session witnessed 123 stocks rally for gains, 5 remain unchanged and 25 decline.
Among the biggest movers of the day were blue-chips Vinpearl Tourism and Trading (VPL) and PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD), up 2,000 VND per unit.
In Hanoi , the HaSTC-Index increased 4.27 points or 2.36 percent to close at 185.22 points. Almost 7 million shares, worth nearly 291 billion VND, changed hands.
